My 2023 Desk Setup, and What I'm Focusing On
·~2 min·Monitors & Desk · Gear
Hey everyone, Romel here. It's the start of the year, so I wanted to post a quick preview of where my setup is at and what I'm planning to focus on for the next twelve months.

The desk itself is the heart of everything I do, since it's where the coding, the gaming, the streaming, and the video editing all happen in the same spot. Right now that means a multi-monitor layout, a keyboard from the ever-growing collection, and a deskmat to tie it together. Nothing here is final. The whole thing is a constant work in progress, which is half the fun. There's always a cable to tidy, an arm to reposition, or a board to swap in.
More than the gear, though, this post is about intent. I find that if I actually say out loud what I want to focus on, I'm far more likely to follow through. So here's the short version for the year.
I want to spend more time building. I've got a pile of side project ideas that never make it past a prototype, and I'd like to actually ship a few of them, even if they're only ever used by me. I want to keep making content around the stuff I genuinely care about, the keyboards, the sim racing, the desk, rather than chasing whatever's trending. And I want the setup to serve all of that instead of becoming a project in its own right that I tinker with instead of getting real work done.
That's the plan. A clean spot to work from, a few things I actually want to build, and a year of pointing the camera at the things I'm already excited about.
